FAMILY THERAPY
Creating Healthier Ways to Connect
Family relationships can become particularly challenging during adolescence.
As teenagers seek independence, parents may find themselves feeling increasingly disconnected, uncertain, or concerned about their child's emotional well-being.
Communication can become strained, everyday interactions can turn into conflict, and family members may struggle to feel heard or understood.
Finding New Ways to Communicate
I have always enjoyed working with teenagers and their families. Alongside my private practice, I facilitate a weekly Multi-Family group at an adolescent treatment center.
This work continually reinforces how important family relationships and support are to a young person's development.
In family therapy, we work to understand the patterns that may be contributing to tension, improve communication, and help each family member express their needs more effectively.
Helping Families Move Forward Together
My ultimate goal in family therapy is to no longer be needed.
I want to help parents and children communicate openly and honestly without a facilitator.
I want teenagers to feel comfortable expressing what they need without acting out or shutting down, and parents to feel more confident in their ability to listen, understand, and provide meaningful support.
